Water basketball is a water sport which mixes the rules of basketball and water polo. Ideated and promoted by Italian teacher Francesco Rizzuto in 1986, it is played in a swimming pool. Teams of five players each must shoot at the goal with a ball within a certain time after gaining possession. In the USA, Brazil, and Europe, some amatorial matches are organized to develop this sport. In 2005, the Italian Federation of Basketball recognized it as a form of basketball. In the Netherlands, people have been playing water basketball (known there as waterbasketbal) since the 1970s. Besides regular tournaments, they also organize a national championship where the best teams compete for the official Dutch Waterbasketbal championship title. From Wikipedia under the

Water polo, Basketball Then Baseball, next year? Q. I am moving to a new school next year. I will be a junior in high school. I want to focus on playing sports that year, because its something I haven't took serious. Primarily, I want to take part in three sports: Water polo, Basketball, and Baseball. So this summer will be huge for me in terms of preparing myself for doing this. Should I go for it? Have any of you played multiple sports in a year? Is it really hectic? Basically how can I improve my overall athletiscm starting now, so that I will have an edge over the competition? By the way, I have a full sized pool, basketball court and baseball field near my house. So I have that covered. one of my main problems is that none of my family or friends like these sports or like to practice… [cont.] Asked by Hoops Hero - Thu Feb 14 15:16:58 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. For water polo: the best thing you can do on your own is swim and egg beater! Just try to build up your swimming and egg beater endurance. You should also get a water polo ball and dribble it while you swim... If you have access to a water polo goal, practice shooting and work on controlling your shots. Aim for something, like a towel hanging over the top corners. Good luck! Answered by swimmy045 - Thu Feb 14 17:51:57 2008 A liquid that will never grow algae/go bad?
